Financial Controller

Purpose of position

The Financial Controller position is a hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the efficient running of a busy operational team of a growing and dynamic business.  Working capital management and tax compliance will be a fundamental aspect of the role.

The position will be a senior member of the Finance department and, therefore, jointly responsible for ensuring that Finance meets all external / internal reporting deadlines and other departmental objectives.

Key Tasks

Key responsibilities within this superb role include:
  • Monthly management accounts including variance analysis for US entities.
  • Group reporting
  • Preparing monthly Management Information pack
  • Sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger
  • Statutory reporting and accounting policy
  • US Corporation tax
  • US Sales and Property tax
  • Liquidity management
  • Treasury
  • Payroll
  • Audit co-ordination
Whilst the above is a guide to general expectation of the role, we expect this position to evolve allowing you greater scope to gain both knowledge and experience within the online and affiliate market place.

Skills & Expertise

To be successful you will need to meet the below requirements.
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • Experience of similar roles would be preferred
  • Good standard of academic achievement (A-Level or Degree).
  • Extensive accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel required (pivot tables, sumifs , some VBA etc)
  • Experience using Sage 200 and IP Payaway an advantage.
  • Experience of managing staff preferred.
  • Commercially-minded.
  • Eye for detail and methodical approach.
  • Highly confidential and discreet.
  • Strives to continually improve productivity and quality of work produced. 
  • Is self-motivated and a self-starter. 
  • Understands the importance of processes and procedures and the application of these.
  • Possess strong communication (both verbal and written), and customer service skills, and exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team.
